Sweet Heart

It all seemed so much simpler as a kid. You liked someone, you pretended to hate him/her. Valentine’s Day came around, and you clipped little heart-shaped cards out of a book and put them in a box for your third-grade teacher to distribute. And then you waited, breathless, to see how many cards you got, and whether the object of your desire gave you one, too. I knew we would go steady when I opened mine and it told me I was stuck-up.
So what is a grown-up Romeo or Juliette to do to top that kind of love?
Visit the Hershey’s site. There is a plethora of sweet pleasure for you to make out of their chocolate bars and Kisses. My favorite: the candy box made of chocolate. You can also use Scharffenberger, if you prefer a more European chocolate.
For those of you who are more ambitious, Jacques Pépin’s Complete Techniques offers an elaborate and beautiful chocolate box as technique number 296.
