Modern Magnetism
Is your refrigerator plastered with Joe Schmo’s magnetized business cards? Here’s a modern solution that’s both mid-century and modular, so I can change it with my mood. If you don’t have the tools or the patience to chop the pieces yourself, you can always purchase bags of wooden cutouts from the craft store.
Materials:
- Quarter-round molding (half round, full round, and square also work well)
- Paint
- Business Card Magnets
- Glue
Tools:
- Miter box and hand saw or miter saw
- Sand paper
Make It:
- Using the saw, cut the molding into pieces approximately 1/4″ - 1/2″ thick.
- Sand any rough edges.
- Paint the blocks desired colors.
- Cut magnetized business cards into shapes identical to, but slightly smaller than the wood shapes.
- Glue magnets to the wood pieces.
- Arrange to your heart’s content.
