Closet Organization Part 3: Divide and Conquer
DIVIDE AND CONQUER
![]()
Jeans spilling over onto your work pants? Tees sliding into your sweaters? Divide and conquer. See, that folding technique they made you use when you had that summer job at The Gap was something you could use later on in life. As I as working on this projects, I found an acrylic version being sold at $12 per divider. This entire project costs me $5.
Materials
2 – 10” X 12” MDF or shelving material. This may need to be adjusted for the height of your shelf. One 8’ shelf will get you 4 dividers
3 – 1 ¼” wood screws
Wood glue (optional)
1) if you are purchasing new materials (versus using scraps), I would suggest getting it cut at the store. To avoid making the person cutting the MDF angry, let them know that you are OK with rough cuts. This way they can measure out all the pieces at once. 2) Arrange 2 pieces of wood together in the shape of an “ L”. 3) Pre-drill the holes 4) Secure pieces together with the screws.
