Whether your drink is a Long Island Ice Tea or a Cosmo, what better way to cool down this summer than with a cocktail garden party. Here are some ideas for delicious new drinks and a trick for making your vodka tastier:

Check out Webtender or Drinks Mixer for thousands of newfangled cocktail recipes. Dress up your drinks by rimming the edges in salt, sugar, or candy and add a little kitsch like Cocktail Glass Monkeys or Cocktail Charms.

Here is a little trick a friend taught me for turning inexpensive vodka in to purer and tastier vodka.

	Take a water filter (like a Brita) and pour in a bottle of vodka, filtering a small amount at a time. Let the liquid filter through, then repeat the process.
	The more you filter the vodka, the purer and better tasting it will be, without losing any of it’s alcohol content. Believe me, the improved taste is worth the time.

Another idea: Throw a cocktail party and get all of your friends to bring their favourite spirits and mixers. Set up a row of punch bowls and mix a number of concoctions. Slushy drinks with crushed ice are perfect for a hot day. On the wagon? Make the party virgin and blend up fruity drinks using grenadine.
