Knitty Gritty
Knitting, as everyone knows, is not just for grannies and good little librarians anymore. The young, hip, and alternative are picking up sticks and casting on more than ever. Here are a few ideas and patterns for the rebellious knitter.
Knitta are a team of graffiti knitters who are “warming the world, one car antenna at a time” by tagging public property with wool. Crew members, such as SonOfAStitch and The Notorious N.I.T, are tagging all over the world by knitting cosies to cover everything from door handles in Texas to bricks of the Great Wall of China.
The Anti-Craft are a group of subversives who craft from the dark side, with projects such as doll part plant pots and a knitted shawl entitled swamp witch.

If your rebellious side has been inspired, then my super easy pattern for a skull and needles knitting bag is a great place to start. Or you could pick up a copy of stitch ‘n bitch which will teach you everything you need to know about knitting and includes loads of unique patterns, including the anarchist hat.
