As we ring in the start of summer this weekend, thoughts inevitably turn to backyard barbecues. A cheeky new cookbook, “The Meat Club: For Girls Who Love Their Meat,” should sate ravenous carnivores with tasty recipes for marinated tri-tip, lamb kebabs, and spareribs. Foodie backpackers might like “Campfire Cuisine: Gourmet Recipes for the Great Outdoors,” a digest-size book filled with instructions for restaurant-worthy meals like barbecued Peking duck wraps, cheese s’mores, and grilled salmon with balsamic fig sauce. And just over the transom: a new magazine devoted to meat will be launching soon. Time to fire up the ‘cue!
