Cool Tools is a site sharing recommendations on tools that really work. As I fix up my new home I find I refer to the site before I venture out to buy anything.

I’ve found solutions for things I’m currently concerned with - a ladder that folds up to 48″, the best ratcheting screwdriver and an easy on the hands forward action staple gun. The site also offers recommendations in categories such as Life On Earth, Science Method, Consumptivity and Community.

I’ve found unexpected guides such as the Shopper’s Guide to Pesticide in Produce and The Complete Guide to House Concerts. I’m also delighted by the everyday items - a great travel mug, clear removable mounting squares, the best homekeeping book I’ve seen Home Comforts, and why Gaffer’s tape is better than duct tape for some situations. A few other things from the site I’m keeping around are the LED replacement bulb for flashlights, this microfiber cleaning cloth, the inexpensive OP Loftbed plans and the Uban Compost Tumbler.
