Unconventional Earings
Why wear boring old bead earings when almost anything can be turned in to a cute pair. Turn old or broken zippers into zip tab earings or sweeten your earlobes with gummy bear earings. Use found or unwanted items and make some puzzle piece earings, guitar pick earings or glow star earings.
Making Earings
Here’s a quick how to that you can use to turn almost any item in to an earing. In this tutorial I am making a pair of sim card earings.
You will need:
- 2 x Found or Unwanted Items
- 2 x Jump Rings
- 2 x Earing Hooks
- Pliers
- Tack

1. Pierce a hole in to the item that you are using. If you are using a thin material you can do this with a thumb tack, but thicker materials may need to be drilled. |

2. Open up the jump ring by twisting one side forward with a pair of pliers. |
 |
3. Slip the jump ring through the hole on the item. |
 |
5. Slip the earing hook on to the jump ring and then close the jump ring by twisting the open side back with the pliers. |
