From the Source
One of my favorite blogs to sift through is Real Baking, the site of cookbook author, food expert, and really nice person Rose Levy Beranbaum. She talks about her travels, things going on around her town, and recipes she is trying out, as well as offering baking advice and recipes you know you can trust. The questions and answers category is incredibly helpful, and I keep bookmarked some articles on the site: Rose’s Vanilla Bible, weigh to bake, why cakes dome and why cakes dip.
There are plenty of recipes and a few I’m planning on making this season: Beloved English Gingerbread Cake, Pure Pumpkin Cheesecake, and Cherry Pie (see also Tender and Flaky Pie Crust). There are even equipment recommendations which you can trust come from somebody who really knows: an affordable digital thermometer and accurate measuring cups and pour spout bowls that won’t drip.
