Sesam by Format are large scale picture decals for interior doors. The creators wanted large photographs in their home but couldn’t find wall space for them, so the idea of decorating the doors was born.

Picture Perfect
I’ve never been good at hanging pictures. I can never get them positioned right, and then when I finally commit to where I want them to go, I cannot execute the design. Usually I end up calling over a friend who “stages” houses for a real estate company. He finally taught me the tricks of the trade. Here’s how the pro’s hang pictures:
Blind Illusion
Love Is Blind is a collection of clever window treatments created by product designer Patrick Laing and textile designer Abi Williams. I so desire the Blue Tree design for my own bedroom window.
Boxed set
People send me postcards all the time. My refrigerator is like a museum of other peoples’ vacations — allowing me to travel to exotic locations vicariously. I keep them not only for the scenic vistas, but sometimes there is a design aspect that I like for my own work: color combinations, placement of the subject matter, or unusual typefaces. The problem is that I run out of refrigerator display space way before I run out of postcards.
Last-minute valentines
If you need to create a valentine quickly, take some inspiration from from the valentines made of recycled goods in the Craft Flickr pool. They range from the simple to the literal to the secret.
Fool-proof chocolate soufflé
Valentines Day: It’s not about the Hallmark card. It’s not about the flowers. It’s not even about that special someone. It’s about the chocolate.
I mean, what would Valentine’s Day be without chocolate? Seems to me that even the most calorie conscious among us let loose on this one day a year, which means it’s time to forget that last-minute box of drugstore candies. Make something wonderful, and something wonderful may happen. I suggest this soufflé.
