Moonstruck

Congratulations to Civil Twilight, the super smart design collective (and FOR—Friend of ReadyMade) that was recently crowned the winner of Metropolis magazine’s 2007 Next Generation Design Competition. Kate Lydon, Anton Willis, and Christina Seely were honored for their concept of Lunar-Resonant streetlights, which adjust their brightness based on the ambient light in the night sky (new moon = bright lights, full moon = dim lights). It’s an ingenious way to reduce energy consumption and combat light pollution. Love it!
