If you regularly sew or craft, you probably have a huge amount of remnant fabric and scraps lying around. Instead of throwing these away, why not turn them into a necklace? Here’s how:
Ingredients:
- 10 scraps of fabric (or more, if you want to make a longer necklace)
- Wire
- Ribbon
- Embroidery Thread
Tools:
- Needle
- Scissors
 |
1. Take a long strip of fabric and crunch it up in your hand. Fold the fabric over and over. |
 |
2. Fold and roll the fabric into a ball. |
 |
3. Wrap wire around the ball to hold its shape. Make a pile of 10 or so; these are your “beads.” |
 |
4. Thread the needle with embroidery thread and stitch two of the fabric balls together. Repeat this until all of them are strung together. |
 |
5. Cut two lengths of ribbon and stitch one piece to each side of the fabric-ball string (you’ll use these to tie the necklace around your neck). Tie up the ribbons and play dress up with your new jewelry! |
And if you still have scraps left over, why not attempt a knit fabric belt?
