RE-entry
MUJI fans, take note: The Japanese retailer known for its simple, useful, and unbranded wares is hosting a second round of its International Design Competition, and this year’s contest is right up any ReadyMaker’s alley. The theme is “RE”—as in Re-think, Re-design, Re-use, and so on—and the task is simple: Re-invent an everyday object, keeping fashion and functionality in mind.
Anyone, from students to established product designers, can enter. Winners will see their designs on display at MUJI’s retail locations (including the soon-to-open New York space), and one will take home the whopping $20,000 grand prize. The deadline is July 31, so hurry up and finish that MacGyver Challenge project (which is due the same day) so you can send it to MUJI as well!
