Quik time
What does community mean? What is design? Why aren’t we as picky about our architecture as we are about our fashion? How can we leave the world a little better than it was when we got here?
These are the questions that get asked when you combine ReadyMade designers, community-minded surfers, and a little Jack Daniels. Which is exactly what we did last weekend, at the QuiksilverEdition Mission in Venice Beach, California, with our friends from the surfwear company.
As part of Quiksilver’s series of summer events, we hosted a ReadyMade weekend complete with an issue release party, a salon-like conversation with our cover project creator Andrea Keller, and a glass-etching workshop that made use of those empty JD bottles.
Couldn’t make it? Never fear: The event was our first venture into SoCal, but it won’t be our last. Why not browse the photos on our Flickr page while you’re waiting for us to come back?
