After the storm
Today—Wednesday, August 29th—is the second anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. So here are a couple ways to commemorate the tragedy and help leg-up the city, which continues to hobble: Comic artist Josh Neufeld has created a graphic strip about survivors that will have you holding your heart in your hands. The series lives at SMITH, an online repository of personal stories. At Happy Birthday Katrina, you can view footage shot in Louisiana and gain access to a clearinghouse of information: What’s fact, what’s fiction, and how you can get involved—including 10 action items, like e-mailing HUD and volunteering to rebuild a home.
