Holiday reminder: Recycle your packing peanuts!
Packing peanuts can be a hassle at any time of the year, but not nearly as much as during the busy holiday shipping season. Short of hanging garlands made from Styrofoam “popcorn” or saving the little white blobs until you need them to ship something else, there isn’t much you can do with them. But please, pretty please, don’t throw them into an overflowing landfill—give them another chance to protect some valuable cargo by donating them to your local shipping outlet. Retail shipping locations such as Mailboxes Etc and The UPS Store can’t get enough of the stuff: Having shown up multiple times with garbage bags full of packing peanuts, I can report that they’re always received with a smile. Happy Holidays!
