This weekend: National Hanging Out Day
Tomorrow—Saturday, April 19th—is National Hanging Out Day, so if you’ve got laundry on your weekend to-do list, you’d best keep those clothes out of the dryer and hang ‘em up instead. Why? According to Project Laundry List, six to ten percent of residential energy use in the U.S. goes toward running clothes dryers. So get those freshly-washed duds on the line! (Psst! A lack of outdoor space to hang a clothesline is no excuse not to participate. Case in point: Check out this indoor drying rack by ReadyMade reader Linda Dunbar of Brookfield, Illinois, which she rigged from an old umbrella).
