MacGyver Challenge: Curtains and Drapes
{Deadline: May 19, 2008}
by Anthony Discenza
Let’s be honest: No one pays attention to curtains unless they’re ugly—and they’re usually ugly. I’ve never understood the practice of disguising windows with oddly patterned fabric; I prefer other methods for avoiding UV rays and neighbors. Plus, it seems that most store-bought swaths are designed to make us want to rip them down as soon as we’ve put them up. So give your washed-out window treatments their curtain call and re-draw the drapes for a chance to win a subscription and a ReadyMade T-shirt.
