“Happening” this weekend: Plastic Oh No Bag
Need something to do this weekend? Gather up your plastic bags: Collage artist Jason Rosenberg is joining the world-traveling scavengers/owners of New York’s Kiosk (look for our story on the shop in the August/September issue of ReadyMade) for Plastic Bag Happening, the second event in the store’s ongoing series of mini-exhibitions.
While 16-year-old scientists are trying to solve the environmental crises plastic bags are causing, Rosenberg is making art out of them. Armed with a sewing machine and the will to rework these throwaway totes into functional masterpices, he’ll be stationed at Kiosk starting today—Friday, June 27th—through next Tuesday, July 1st, from 3pm to 7pm. Bring a bag and get crafty or just hang out with the Kiosk gang. And don’t miss the closing party on Tuesday, July 1st from 6-10pm—it’s sure to be plastic fantastic!
