Audience participation: Re-fashioning theater seats
As someone who’s always wanted to renovate and run an old movie theater, I flipped over these Marimekko -clad movie theater seats. After scoring some old theater cast-offs, Sonya of the KnitSonya blog let them languish for a while in closets and hallways before deciding what to do with them. Then she got her hands on some fabric from the Marimekko outlet in Finland and reupholstered the relics; the brightly covered vintage theater seats now sit in the hallway of her San Francisco home. Take a look at the state of these chairs a year ago to see just how fantastic a job Sonya (with the help of a few friends) did; her original post provides the details about how it all went down. What abandoned projects are hiding in your closet?
