There are times when you unexpectedly find yourself in need of a funnel (impromptu funnel cake making session, car troubles, etc). My solution? I give an old paper cup that would’ve otherwise been discarded new life by simply putting a small hole in the bottom using a sharp object.
Midwesterners, behold! There’s a new way to travel. Megabus offers non-stop travel to several Midwest cities for as cheap as $1 ($.50 transaction fee). Talk about budget travel. I just booked myself roundtrip from Cleveland to Chicago for $16.50. Not only am I saving myself money on gas and tolls, I’m going to use the hands-free time to crochet a scarf.
This fall as you are setting your clocks back and replacing your smoke detector batteries, add more thing to your list: Change the direction of your ceiling fan. By setting your ceiling fan to turn clockwise (reverse), the fan will “pull” the warmer air away from the ceiling and down into the lower living space, saving you money on heating expenses.
