Senior Designer


Your Tasks:

  • Design departments and features of the magazine and SIPs
  • Commission and art direct freelance illustrators
  • Assist the art director with a variety of tasks, from administrative organizational work to directing and collaborating with photographers and the staff photo editor on location shoots
  • Ship pages and troubleshoot problems with the printer
  • Ensure all projects are completed and polished-looking
  • Direct interns to help the art department in needed tasks
  • Handle email and written queries for art interns, as well as interview, hire, and manage them
  • Support marketing designer, when needed
  • Collect and edit design department comp list
  • Prepare digital files for website upload after each bimonthly ship
  • Serve as a production manager contact (along with Art Director) with parent company prepress house

We Need:

  • 3 years experience in editorial magazine design
  • Adept in using CS2 (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Outstanding communication, writing skills, and an eye for detail
  • Creative thinker, resourceful, organized, detail-oriented

Associate Marketing Director


Your Tasks:
The ReadyMade Associate Marketing Director's role is to oversee and manage the creation, development, and execution of marketing programs and initiatives for ReadyMade sales and branding purposes.

  • Act as primary point person for sales team for all sales research, sales collateral and marketing requests and needs
  • Create general and customized client proposals, including writing, developing concept, budget development, partnership sourcing and final release to sales team (approximately 5-10 per week)
  • Establish standards of added value, broaden existing menu of standard added value options, and develop new and revitalize existing added-value programs to engage clients and increase ReadyMade profitability
  • Identify, negotiate and manage execution of sold added value programs and marketing platforms at major events as the primary liaison for clients, sales team, and outside partners
  • Work directly with Editorial and Art departments on all in-book marketing materials to ensure brand standards are maintained
  • Maintain promotional marketing budget including working with Business Manager to guarantee all spending is appropriately tracked and coded
  • Work with editorial team to grow existing partnerships to the benefit of sales team
  • Act as Primary ReadyMade Marketing Contact for Meredith Corporation - responding to Corporate Marketing Requests, attending monthly Corp Marketing Meetings, developing relationships within Meredith to benefit ReadyMade
  • Act as primary liaison between sales and ReadyMade's external and internal research contacts for ongoing research requests and updating of existing research materials as needed
  • Work with manufacturing, production, finance, and fulfillment to implement marketing programs
  • Work with Ad Director and Publisher to provide sales team with all necessary sales tools including media kits, issue sell sheets, collateral materials, advertiser premiums and other sales support tools
  • Work with Publisher to manage Promotion Assistant to maintain workflow and develop skill set; Work with Art Director to manage workflow of Marketing Designer

We Need:

  • 3-5 years experience in media/magazine marketing/sales at a manager level
  • Familiarity with primary research approaches and advertising/media research
  • Knowledge and prior use of syndicated research (ie: MRI, Mendelsohn, Halls, Affinity, SRDS, etc.)
  • Moderate to advanced skills with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Outstanding communication, writing skills, and an eye for detail
  • Creative thinker, resourceful Organized, detail-oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under intense deadline pressure Effective problem-solving, analytical skills

Marketing Department Intern


We Need:Adept designers who can create and execute creative marketing campaigns. Interns who are willing to assemble media kits and research companies targeting the GenX/Gen Y demographic. Organized thinkers who can help manage events.

You are:Well-versed in the ReadyMade mission and DIY culture, an organized self-starter with efficient computer skills » Excel, Microsoft Office; Creative Suite and/or web are a huge plus. Your main responsibilities will be helping to research and source advertising, helping plan and execute the rad RM-sponsored events, promotional branding projects, creating and organizing marketing materials. You are willing to do general office tasks and also contribute big ideas.

Product Department Internship!


Attention all illustrators, designers, craftspersons--the ReadyMade Product Department has an internship opening for anyone that loves designing and building things with style and class.

The Product Department intern will assist with product and package design, order processing and fulfillment, helping create house ads and keeping the retail store running smoothly. Sound fun? It is.

The position runs for three months. Although it is unpaid, you'll be working closely with a small and amazing staff while helping our online store grow.

NYC Ad Sales


Your Tasks:
Maintain and grow advertising revenue for ReadyMade magazine within the designated territory that includes NY, NJ, CT, and New England Territory. Work with management and marketing team to apply strategic thinking and create programs that meet clients' needs, challenges and business objectives.
